Olfactif Premium Fragrance Subscription July 2016 Review

Olfactif is a subscription service that sends three samples of niche, independent fragrances every month. If you love unique perfumes, you'll want to take a look. The unisex fragrances come beautifully packaged, perfect for gifting and storing. I loved their old packaging but the new packaging is even better! It closes magnetically and the insert can be removed to store as many of your past samples as you can fit.
Each month you'll receive an $18 credit for use toward a full bottle on the Olfactif website. It doesn't stack but you'll have a new credit every month.

The Cost: $18/month

What You Get: Three niche perfume samples in 2.25ml spray vials, carefully packaged and sent to your door every month. You'll also receive $18 toward the purchase of a full size bottle for the month.

Dasein Summer- "Dasein's SUMMER unisex fragrance is sunshine and cocktails at the ultimate summer pool party.  With notes of cilantro, grapefruit, grass, jasmine, and orange blossom, SUMMER is a light, bright celebration of the funnest season."
The citrus was a little too sharp for me.
Aroma M Geisha Vanilla Hinoki- "Its key ingredient is a woodsy, smoky vanilla found only in Morocco—and very hard to come by. Five years in the making, it's been blended with unexpected partner notes. Foremost among them is hinoki, a storied cypress. For centuries, this prized Japanese wood was used to build palaces, temples, shrines, noh theaters – and those hot spring pools known as onsen, found in mountainside inns. Our intention with this new scent was to capture the cloudy, floating, sybaritic sensation of lingering in one of these scented hot springs.
This was actually my favorite of the bunch but with notes of lavender, it's best I stay away. Allergies really cramp my style! Besides lavender there is bergamot, leather, patchouli, amyris and cedarwood.
The Sum The Red- "Exotic, warm, and enveloping. The Red brings us through a kaleidoscope of far away lands, altered experiences, and endless adventures. Its smooth spicy glow surrounds us with a reassuring confidence to explore the unknown."
This is very spicy and warm. I like it a lot though not for myself. My husband didn't like it (even though I did) saying it was too complicated. Psshhh! Notes include fire, saffron, sandalwood, amber and sterling silver.

VERDICT: I found that all three scents this month were a little too masculine for me. I'm not really into unisex scents as a whole. I do prefer to smell girlish (though not sugary sweet like I'm in high school or anything!) and with an allergy to lavender, the Aroma M scent, which would have been my favorite, is a no-go.

If you are interested in getting your own shipment of curated niche fragrances each month, you can sign up for Olfactif right here. It's definitely expanded my horizons and ruined me for lesser fragrances.
