This month there's a change with the information card. Now it's a cardstock pamphlet with a lot more information about the products than previously. As usual the presentation is pretty and pink. Next month, though, there will be a specially designed box to celebrate fashion and beauty. I always love their box illustrations when they do them. I can't throw them away either. You should see my stash. Or wait, no, don't. You'll be horrified.
The Cost: $21/month
What You Get: Five luxury deluxe sized beauty essentials, from both well-known and emerging brands, delivered to your door each month.
Wella Professional Oil Reflections Smoothing Oil- This is a spray hair oil with macadamia seed oil, avocado oil and vitamin E. More oil is the last thing my hair needs but I have been using hair oils on my ends. I did just get them all cut off but my hair has been bleached a couple times and I feel like it shows. The oil does keep the frizzies away. Wella is a brand I trust for my toners but I've never used anything like this from them. We'll see how it goes.
De Bruyere After Sun Lotion Monoi- Monoi means "scented oil" and in this case it's gardenia flowers soaked in coconut oil. Sounds good to me! This is a lotion for hydrating your skin after sun exposure. This brand is from France and is one of the reasons Glossybox can be fun. You're unlikely to find this elsewhere.
Too Faced Mascara Melt Off Cleansing Oil Waterproof Mascara Dissolver- Looks like this uses soybean oil and canola oil to get your mascara off. Waterproof mascara can definitely be annoying to get off but oil based cleansers do work best. If you have lash extentions, don't use it because it'll take them off but otherwise, go for it. This says you coat your lashes with the want, wait a minute and then wipe off with a damp cloth.
Invisibobble Hair Ties- I have a few of these now since I first got them in the Allure Beauty Box. Im not a fan. They just ripped my hair out when I went to remove it. Yes, I grew up in the 90's. Yes, I had a fixation with scrunchies. Yes, I still use them. Don't kill me! I was in a restaurant and I was listening to two girls talk and one of them said scrunchies were too old school for her. They were probably in high school. I felt so old!! I wasn't wearing one at the time and I was kinda glad. This must be like me judging those women who still have big bangs... /cry.
Borghese Fango Active Mud for Face and Body- Well, I love mud. Mud, clay, charcoal... give it all to me. I don't know why but my face responds really well to ingredients like that. It has bentonite clay, almond oil and hyaluronic acid in it which is pretty awesome. Totally going to use it. Of course it's way too expensive to buy in full size (I much prefer my Origins Charcoal Mask that's a third of the price).
Trifle Cosmetics Lip Parfait Buttery Lip Cream- This is an English brand. It's by the same people who do the So Susan Lip Love subscriptions bags (which you can get here and are $15) and Jelly Pong Pong. All of which have been in Glossybox before. Their Statement Skin is to die for. Cardboard lipstick holders are adorable but I'm not a fan of their durability. The one I got is called Guilty Pug and I haven't opened it because it looks like it's going to be a coral. No oranges for me. Everrrrr.
VERDICT: This box wasn't quite as awesome as last months but I still like being able to try new things. The after sun lotion smells wonderful and I'll use everything except the Invisibobble and the lipstick.
