My Texas Market Wows Again! The August 2016 "Gulf Coast Summer" Review and 25% Off Coupon

My Texas Market is one of the best, most creative specialty local foods box I've found. Maybe it's because Texas is amazing? There are a lot of creative people and small business owners with fun and wondeful products to show off. While food is a big component, My Texas Market curators do a great job of finding beauty and home items to sneak in, too.

What do I love most about My Texas Market? I get farmer's market goodies delivered to my door! There's no other way I would EVER be able to get some of these things yet here they are. It has been so much fun to use and/or taste test some of these fabulous products.

The theme this month is "Gulf Coast Summer" and features products from the Texas coastline as well as summery treats.

The Cost: $35/month plus shipping (It's $44.90 total to WA)

What You Get: A combination of wholesome and homemade specialty food products, handmade candles, soaps, or other beauty products or other health and wellness items and/or sustainably-sourced coffee and tea, unique crafts or locally made chocolates and candies.

South Texas Milling Gulf Coast Fish Fry- Located on the Texas Gulf Coast, STX Milling is a fourth generation, family owned and operated stone milling business. Stone ground cornmeal with spices will give you tasty breaded fish. My dad is from Texas and he loves catfish. I might have to bread up some catfish for him and see what he thinks! All I need now are hushpuppies!
Salve Naturals Refresh Hydrating Mist- An all natural and organic skincare line, Salve Naturals uses sustainably and ethically grown US ingredients to create quality products. This one is AMAZING! It's got peppermint, spearmint, menthol and rosemary in it plus aloe! Don't get it in your eyes but do spray it all over yourself.
This also came with a soap sample and some coupons that I am probably going to be using. So much good stuff on the website.
Yellowbird Sauce Jalapeno Hot Sauce- Yellowbird is getting around! We have their habanero sauce and this will be a great addition. These hot sauces are made with local produce with no added preservatives or artificial flavors. That means what you taste is what you get. Delicious! This has jalepenos, carrots, onions and garlic in it. For use with alllll sorts of goodness.
Sweet Home Bath and Body Foot Scrubby- This is made with loofah from Texas! I didn't even know you could grow loofah... Well, I just learned that loofah is from a vegetable in the cucumber family. Huh. That's pretty cool! You can also wash and dry them in the laundry.
Anyway,  this loofah is dipped in handmade soap with cocoa butter and oils plus a blend of peppermint, eucalyptus & tea tree essential oils and menthol crystals. Well, I'm certainly going to be in heaven. All that minty, mentholy goodness!
Dallas Caramel Co. Sea Salt and Drunken Nut Caramels- I love caramel. Loooove it. I do not particularly like salted caramel, though. Which I know makes me weird since it's such a "thing" right now. The good part is that it makes my mom happy because she gets to eat them all. The nut ones? Thooose are miiiiine! They're made with Texas pecans and Texan whiskey from Firestone and Roberts Distilling in Fort Worth. They're delicious! The texture is a little worse for wear from the heat but the flavor is excellent. I wonder if they have more... Oh. They do. They have a million flavors.
OMG... They have a Caramel of the Month subscription!!

Look a this, here's the next three months:
September – Apple Pie
October – Pumpkin
November – Chai
Oh, dear. I might... need all those caramels.

VERDICT: If you got this far, you already know how I feel about this box. Love it! How can there be so many good things in one box?! And it happens every month! I'm telling you, if you're thinking about it-- just do it. Guess what there's a fantastic coupon right now, too. To encourage you, of course. And when you get your September box, rip it open immediately. September’s box themed “Back to School”and will include gluten-free muffin mix, a handcrafted bookmark, and a relaxing bath soak plus other Texan tasties.

If you would like to sign up for My Texas Market, you can do that here. Get 25% off your first box with code MAIL25! Best coupon I've seen in ages so make the most of it!
