My Texas Market September 2016 Review and Coupon

If you like to support local markets, independent craftsmen and small businesses, My Texas Market has got you covered. Since everything inside comes from Texas, there is naturally a food focus, but they do such a great job of sneaking other fun products that you won't find anywhere else. It's like getting the Farmer's Market delivered to your door.

The Cost: $35/month plus shipping (It's $44.90 total to WA)

What You Get: A combination of wholesome and homemade specialty food products, handmade candles, soaps, or other beauty products or other health and wellness items and/or sustainably-sourced coffee and tea, unique crafts or locally made chocolates and candies.

Whole Note GF Create-a-Muffin Mix- This is an award winning muffin mix made by a family company in Katy, Texas. Use this mix with blueberries, raspberries, bananas or whatever your heart desires. I wonder if I could make lemon poppyseed... I might try that. This is a gluten free mix and uses a plethora of flours as a base including rice flour, buckwheat flour and tapioca flour. Normally I give all my gluten free stuff to my friend but I think I might have to try this. (Also, if you have been looking for gluten free baking mixes, check out their website immediately because they're all on sale 50% off!)
Value: $6
Sasha's Hand Poured Bath and Body Waterless Sanitizer- It is true that cold and flu season are coming up. I always keep sanitizer on hand just in case. This one is lavender scented so I can't use it but I know just the person to love it.
Value: $4.50
Sweet Thyme Design Inspired Bookmark- This looks like an old silver knife that's been hand stamped with the word "inspire". I thought maybe it was a money clip when I first pulled it out. Sweet Thyme uses vintage flatware from shops in Austin. I feel like the one I got might actually be silver but who knows. No two pieces are alike and I have to admit, the garden markers on her site are pretty cute.
Value: $18
Kitchun Apple Chai and Coco Granola- I like granola with fruit and chocolate in it. Otherwise it's boring. Being organic, grain and gluten free are side benefits. The Coco one has not only chocolate but coconut which miiight be two of my favorite things. If you do anything, you should check out their website because the owners are hilarious.
Value: $6
Sam Wish Goddess of the Sea Bath Soak- This is made with calendula flowers, spirulina, epsom salts and bergamot, cedar and arborvitae essential oils. This was packaged so beautifully, I almost didn't want to take it apart. While I don't normally take baths because I hate our bathtub (it's too big!) but we are planning a move so I'm tempted to keep this for myself instead of sharing the wealth.
Value: $10

VERDICT: Texas must be full of pretty amazing people because there are so many great products and businesses that have been featured in My Texas Market. Since I can't pull up stakes and head over, this box is the next best thing. This box has always been one I can't resist opening right away just to see what new, fun things I'll find. With specialty boxes like this, it's less about getting a deal and more about the experience. My Texas Market has always come in at least at the full purchase price and many times over that. It's nice to get a box featuring local crafts and goodies because you know you'll never find something you've already received.

If you would like to sign up for My Texas Market, you can do that here. Use code 10FIRST to get 10% off your first box.

What is something you would love to find in your My Texas Market box? I think someone in Texas has to make a tasty beef jerky... :)
