My Texas Market November 2016 Review and Coupon Code

My Texas Market is a subscription box featuring local specialty goods from the state of Texas. Each month you'll get a box packed with various small-batch, locally made food items, beauty products, & home goods.
In keeping with the holidays, the theme for November is about giving thanks. That means warm, cozy food and drink to me!
As a small bonus, every box also includes a Gratitude Bag. Write down all the good things going on, one a day, and on New Years or Christmas take them out and read them to remind yourself.

The Cost: $35/month

What You Get: A combination of wholesome and homemade specialty food products, handmade candles, soaps, or other beauty products or other health and wellness items and/or sustainably-sourced coffee and tea, unique crafts or locally made chocolates and candies.
Stellar Gourmet Mulling Spices- Contained in the most adorable glass jar ever, are freshly cracked mulling spices and a reusable muslin bag. Made with coriander, cinnamon, clove, allspice, cardamom and black pepper. I may toss in some star anise for fun. This brand has been in My Texas Market before and everything has been (appropriately) stellar! You can't get this online but if you hit up Austin farmer's markets, you  might be able to snag some.
Use with wine or apple juice to make a warming holiday treat.
Garden Dreams Houston Cranopeno Jelly- This was in the November box last year and while we did enjoy it, I would have liked to see a new product. I served this over cream cheese with crackers as an appetizer and it went over very well. It's made mainly with cranberries, jalepenos and sugar. I don't really like cranberries or jalepenos, but most everyone else had problems staying away from it. It disappeared pretty quick.

The Pecan Shop Apple Pie Pecans- This brand of pecans was also in last November's box but this time they are Apple Pie flavored! Made with apples, honey and cinnamon. And pecans, of course. My dad loves Texas pecans so I took these over there for Thanksgiving and we shared them.
Benjamin Soap Co. Pumpkin Spice Candle- I never say no to a Fall themed candle! I love the scents of this season! This is a 4oz candle tin with non GMO soy and pure essential oils. I've already put this out and it smells amazing!

Fortitude Provisions Room Spray in Autumn Kindling- A comforting blend of cedarwood, sweet orange, baking spices and campfire embers. This is definitely going to make my home smell like Fall. I like the fact that it's not sweet. That means I can still burn my pumpkin spice candles without overwhelming everyone. :)

VERDICT: My Texas Market does a wonderful job with keeping a nice mix of other products along with the specialty food items. It's a lot of fun to get handmade goodies, I have to admit. Texas has a great supply of hardworking artisans, if what has appeared in these boxes over the last year is any indication. So while I was a bit disappointed to see repeats, everything is so good it's difficult to care too much. I do hope, though, that it doesn't happen often.
