Kloverbox March 2017 Review and 10% Off Coupon

Kloverbox sends natural, cruelty-free and/or organic beauty, lifestyle, nutrition and healthy home products to your door every month. It's a great way to get to know new eco-friendly and health conscious companies and encourage a more sustainable lifestyle. This month there's only four products and one of them reeeally skewed my view of the whole box. Sad but true.

The Cost: $25/month

What You Get: Receive premium products to sample from top brands and hand-picked by health conscious curators in beauty, health, nutrition and home categories.

Harvey Prince Sincerely Mini Roller- This is a very nice product! A glass bottle with a roller instead of a spritzer which I like. Sadly the only Harvey Prince fragrance I like is Hello and I already have that from Kloverbox from a year back. Perfume is always iffy when it's the big ticket item in the box since it's so subjective, though.
Value: $23
Vag Magic 7 Count- I just... can't. This is boric acid in a gelcap and it's for vaginal yeast infections. It apparently does work but there is ZERO information about it on the label or in the box. Please don't just "shove it up there" as the packet says without doing some research on whether this is appropriate for you. So unprofessional.
Women's health doesn't have to be a joke, we actually can process information presented to us in a proper, scientific manner. I don't know why it pissed me off so much, reading all that blather. Anyway, please make sure to go to a doctor to get diagnosed before you decide to use this product. Don't let it get on any broken skin, don't swallow it and don't let kids or the dog get into it. Also, contrary to what the website says (apparently it "feels like motherf***ing unicorns"), other sources indicate that it can cause irritation and burning. I'm not saying that it doesn't work but I am saying please don't use this packaging and their website to make your decisions.
Value: $8
Love Myself Organics Forever Lavender Blend Natural Deodorant- Coconut oil with no aluminum, this is just deodorant, not an anti-perspirant. It's vegan, organic and cruelty free. I'm sure it smells wonderful but my danged allergies won't let me use it.
Value: $12

Cuccio Somatology Elixir Calming Spray- Lavender and cardamom spray for refreshing and relaxing. This brand was also in the September 2016 box. I'm bummed I can't use it but all the lavender lovers out there can rejoice. :)
Value: $9

VERDICT: I have to admit that Kloverbox has slipped pretty far in my list of favorite subscription boxes. In fact, it's not on the list any more. I don't know. I think it's mainly that they don't have the same kinds of products as they did before so I'm no longer getting use out of what I receive. This box has two personal products in it that will skew one way or the other pretty hard. Either you like perfume or you don't. Or you get yeast infections or you don't. And if you do, you have to be willing to try a product from a website that thinks women can't think critically and need jokes to talk them into using something. Put some scientific studies on your page, VagMagic, give me a compelling reason to try it your way! Alright, so that's not Kloverbox' fault but it kind of is for including a product without thinking that instructions would be nice. Kinda rant-y of me, huh? Oops.

If you would like to sign up for Kloverbox, you can do that here. Use code KLOVERBOX10 for 10% off your first box.

*This box was sent complimentary for review purposes. all opinions are mine. obviously.

  1. I'm glad I don't get this box... This wouldn't have been good for me and I'd actually be able to use the 2 products with Lavendar.
Great rant! That's ridiculous about VagMagic and your advice is sound. Your honesty is part of why I love your blog so much!

    1. Thanks, Heather! Kloverbox has been so awesome in the past, it's kinda hard to get over. With the change in ownership, there was also a change in vision which is pretty apparent. The previous owner had choices that were far more my style.

  2. I think they have had some home run boxes since they switched owners but this one was a little...confusing to me. The room spray has almost no scent at all I have to use 1/4th of the bottle just to get a light whiff of it and it's gone almost instantly. The vagmagic nonsense is actually a great product in terms of ingredients and as you said, women's health is important and products like this helps us control our own health naturally rather than using antibiotics etc. Having said that, "shoving it up there" really REALLY threw me off when I read it. Why does a company word something that way? it was so off-putting.

The deodorant is freaking. AMAZING, though. It's a bummer you can't use it but if you've ever looked for a natural deodorant that WORKS, this is the one. I know they have other scents (sandalwood and scentless I believe if I remember correctly) but this is the first out of dozens of natural deodorants I've used that is wow-level. I sweat buckets when I sleep and wake up kind of stinky (so lady-like) so I put this deodorant on before bed and woke up 8 hours later with my underarms still smelling like lavender. I was super impressed and I've been using it every night since!

Rambling aside, I was a bit confused by this box and it's theme (if there is one?) I'd love to see more home items like they had before. We get enough beauty products in other boxes. A mix in Kloverbox would be fine, but the home and lifestyle products are what made me originally love it so much.

  3. "Vag magic"?! How patronising! And hardly very clinical for what is basically a health product. Dear me.
