Popsugar March 2017 Subscription Box Review and Coupon

Popsugar Must Have totally made my day! I have been searching for these Smashmallows in stores for ages since I picked up one out of curiousity from a floor stand. Then they disappeared forever. Until Popsugar! While the Smashmallows might be my favorite thing in the box there’s a very, very close second! This was sort of a “meh” box for me but since everything always gets used one way or another, I’m still happy with it.

The Cost: $39.95/month.
What You Get: You’ll get an exciting monthly box full of fun, full-size products that are hand-selected by the Popsugar editors. Full-size products and premium items in beauty, fashion, home, fitness, and food.
Kate Spade New York Photo Album- Wow, she’s been getting around. Housewares, photo albums, water bottles… I did learn that it’s because Kate no longer owns the company (and hasn’t for years). This is a photo album with a cloth polka dot cover. I don’t have a whole lot of photos, though. It’s weird what having a camera phone does to you. I do have stacks of old ones, though. From back before digital cameras. You know, back when you had to take a picture without being able to see it 2 seconds later and had to press your eye right up to the viewfinder? Hah!
Value: $20
Stephanie Johnson Camera Crossbody Bag- A neon orange plastic, see through bag. Yup. Apparently it’s “cool” and “on trend” but I’ve never been one for see-through handbags. No one wants to see your tampons, lady. This will be donated to my darling niece who will love it. Also, you’ll never convince me that anyone would pay $45 for this. (There’s a piece of white tissue inside the front pocket that I left in because it looked better in photos. It’s actually entirely see through which you can tell above the zipper in the first photo.)
Value: $45
Sunnylife Eco Lunchbox- Sunnylife is an Australian company and they’ve shown up before in our boxes. Remember the swan? This time around its a dishwasher safe box for carrying whatever you want in. It’s not see-through which is a plus! I’m actually going to be using this for some of my crafting bits and bobs. It’s cute and very sturdy.
Value: $18
Thrive Causemetics- Brilliant Eye Brightener in Stella- Stella is a gloriously gorgeous champagne color. I’m loving this! It’s a cruelty free. vegan highlighter and it looks so great on my skin. Love. I wore it out last night and my husband said my skin looked amazing.
Value: $24
Smashmallow Cinnamon Churro- Okay, so I freely admit I love these. I did NOT eat them all in one sitting. But it was close. I also ordered more off their website using the 20% off coupon. I got the Pineapple Coconut, Espresso, Mint, Strawberry and more Churro. So yeah, I thought they were good. Heh. Okay, a little update since I got my order already. The Cinnamon Churro are the best. Mainly because they have that crunchy outside.
Value: $4
Velvet Eyewear Gift Card $25- Nice but $25 won’t get you far sadly. Well, halfway on a few styles but barely a dent in others. But this is a Special Extra so it doesn’t count toward the value of the box anyway.

VERDICT: Yay for marshmallows and highlighters! Meh for everything else except the watermelon container which will be put to use in my craft room. That’s 3/5 so not bad. Plus I’m feeling extra magnanimous because Popsugar pulled out the customer service stops for me. I had purchased a Rue La La voucher, discovered they couldn’t be added to an existing subscription so I waited until the last second to redeem it because I wanted as few overlapping boxes as possible. Instead, it wouldn’t work at all so customer service awesomely added to my current subscription even though it technically wasn’t allowed. So I’m thrilled.
If you would like to sign up for Popsugar Must Have, you can do that here. Use code MUSTHAVE5 for $5 off your first box. This has always been one of my favorite subscriptions so I plan to subscribe until I die or they go out of business.
