The Hive Box March 2017 Subscription Box Review and Coupon

The Hive Box is my new favorite thing! Every box has a raw honey in it plus all kinds of honey and bee related goodies. Now that I always have a new fun honey, I've been using it a lot more often (and more generously) in my teas. It's nice to splurge with different honeys, especially when they all have such unique flavors.

There are two different sizes of this box. The one I get is the Deluxe box but they also have a smaller box that has a honey, a beeswax candle and one goodie in it for $15.95. I may switch to that one but right now I'm still enjoying the added bits that the deluxe version has.

The Cost: $24.95/month plus shipping.

What You Get: Every month you'll receive one new raw honey plus 3-5 other bee-related items like candles, soaps, home goods, paper products and edibles.

Bee2Bee Honey Raw Lavender Honey- This is a fairly small jar of raw honey infused with lavender. It's made with honey from Houston bees and the infusion of lavender is so heavenly! I am allergic to lavender in a small but throat-scratchy way, enough that I stay away from real lavender to avoid the discomfort. I tasted it and it tastes wonderful but I can't tell if it's a good thing for me or not. So unless I keel over and die from asphyxiation, I'm going to use it. Either that or I'll use it for my husbands tea. Or actually... I could use it for the Lavender Honey Cream Cheese frosting recipe that they've included. Hm... when's my next party....
Value: $6
Pure Beeswax Candle Tin- I love the smell of beeswax candles up close. I wish beeswax had better throw but they make up for it in longevity, that's for sure. Love!
Value: $8

SusieBeeGood Honey Straws- Fun flavors of cinnamon, blackberry, lemon, watermelon and clover. I already nommed the blackberry (so good!) and the cinnamon (spicy!) and used the lemon one in my tea. I should probably do the watermelon next. Yum!
Value: $1
Moon Valley Organics Moon Melt Lotion Bar- It's so weird! I've never heard of this Seattle brand and now it's popped up in two subscription boxes in the last month! While the muscle rub from the Yogi Surprise box didn't do what I'd hoped, this lotion bar is AMAZING! It's certified organic and yep, has beeswax in it! It's sinks in quickly and leaves my skin feeling gloriously soft. This will go fast and I might have to snag more. So perfect!
Value: $12
Heavenly Organics Chocolate Patties- I wish there were more of these. Made with cocoa and raw honey blended with dark chocolate, these are rich with the perfect amount of sweetness.
Value: $1

VERDICT: Since the main draw of this box (for me) is the raw honey, I was slightly disappointed that the jar was so small this time around. I hope it's not the norm. However, the lotion bar made up for that by being so wonderful. I don't know what would have come in the smaller box but I think I would have missed out on that great product. So I'm sticking with the deluxe box for at least one more month before I decide what I want to do. I mainly want a new, fun jar of honey every month. Am I strangely honey obsessed?? I can't tell.
